This book, written and compiled by Gresham Historical Society volunteers, is the go-to secondary resource on Gresham’s history nearly 20 years after its original publication.  Volume 1, titled Campground to City, focuses on stories of white settlers who came to this area beginning in 1851, following the community’s development into a small town.  Chapters are loosely chronological and organized by theme, each with a different author.  Many draw on oral history interviews with longtime Gresham residents and from photos and documents within the collections of the Gresham Historical Society.
